New Zealand Automobile Association
Embracing a transformative approach
The New Zealand Automobile Association (NZAA) is embracing a transformative approach with its workplace fit out in Tāmaki Makaurau, led by STACK Interiors. Recognising the limitations of their long-standing location at 99 Albert Street, the design of their new offices in Viaduct Harbour fosters a vibrant, unified, and flexible working environment that echoes NZAA’s heritage and reflects the Association’s future direction.
The fitout addresses the need for connection, agility, and identity within the workplace, steering away from a traditional office setup that hindered collaboration and technological integration. Through extensive utilisation studies and thoughtful spatial planning, STACK’s strategy consolidates NZAA’s operations into a cohesive hub, significantly enhancing interaction and operational efficiency.
Prioritising financial and environmental responsibility, much of the built environment was retained and revitalised, along with 80% of the existing furnishings being repurposed. The resulting layout was optimised to support a hybrid working model—reflecting a modern workplace ethos without losing sight of NZAA’s core values and its commitment to its members.
This new workplace not only revitalises NZAA’s physical space but also symbolises a leap towards a collaborative, inclusive, and agile approach to work, allowing the NZAA to continue innovating and delivering the services that its members rely on.
